The 26-year-old man, wanted on outstanding warrants, escaped from police custody at Singleton Police Station, about 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Following an extensive search operation involving officers from Hunter Valley Police District, PolAir, and the Dog Unit, Mason was found at a Muswellbrook hotel just after 6pm on Friday, May 24.
He and a 25-year-old woman were arrested without incident and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.
The woman was released as inquiries continue.
Mason was charged with the outstanding warrants, and escape police custody, and refused bail to appear at Wyong Bail Court on Saturday, May 25.
