The five groups of youngsters, including 25 from the Hunter, divided their studies between TAFE NSW Newcastle and TAFE NSW Wyong.
With nursing one of the occupations expected to see the highest rate of skills shortages in northern NSW between 2018 and 2021, these graduates are now well-equipped with the expertise they need to fill positions at local hospitals and care facilities.
All enjoyed more than 100 guests cheering them on for their dedication to education in earning an Enrolled Nurse qualification, which enables them to explore a career in areas such as Acute Nursing, Aged Care Nursing, Rehabilitation Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and as a pathway to study Registered Nursing.
Along with students' families and friends, employment agencies and industry partners such as Healthecare and Healthscope attended the ceremony.
Singleton Chamber of Commerce president, founder of Cultivate Confident Cultures and a former nurse, Sue Gilroy, was among the guest speakers.
