The Upper Hunter Museum of Rural Life is presenting the Australian classic adventure set in the high mountains, The Silver Brumby (rated G), on Tuesday, May 14.
The 1992 offering not only stars Hollywood heavyweight Crowe, but also Ami Daemion and a young Caroline Goodall.
On a blustery night, Elyne Mitchell (Goodall) reassures her daughter, Indi (Daemion), by telling the girl the story of Thowra, a glorious silver steed.
As Thowra reaches maturity, he is primed to become the leader of a band of wild horses.
The stately beast, however, catches the eye of a man (Crowe) living in the wilderness, who is determined to capture the animal.
The horse must then engage in a desperate battle for his own freedom.
The auditorium doors at the Aberdeen Sport and Recreation Club will open at 11.30am.
A three-course luncheon is scheduled to be served prior to the screening of the movie.
Free tea or coffee is available, too.
A donation of $10 is requested to cover meal cost.
For catering, early bookings are essential and can be made by phoning Daphne on 6543 8356.
