The Bulldogs came on board as a partner with the Tigers to provide new pathways for players and clubs in Groups 4, 19 and 21.
However, it doesn't mean the Tigers will become the Bulldogs.
Far from it, confirmed Canterbury football operations manager Gareth Holmes and Country Rugby League (CRL) CEO Terry Quinn.
The rich history that has been the Greater Northern Tigers (formerly Northern Division) will remain.
The gold and black bumblebee colours stay - and the Tigers logo on the right breast of the jumper will also endure.
All that changes is the Bulldogs logo will also go onto the middle of the chest, as well as sleeve emblems for the jumpers and training gear.
Quinn believes the history of the Tigers and the Bulldogs will enhance the development of many of the young players in the region.
"It's an amazing opportunity for the boys," he said.
"From through the Bulldogs' pathways, to get to the big league.
"It's not an easy pathway.
"And, it's not just about players but coaches, trainers, everyone involved in the game."
