In fact, the novelist has been likened to Evelyn Waugh and Agatha Christie.
And, on Tuesday, March 12, between 5.30pm and 7pm, she’s heading to the region to talk about her best-selling novels and life.

Sulari Gentill is the mastermind behind the critically-acclaimed Rowland Sinclair mysteries, with a list of impressive awards to her name including the Davitt Award for Best Crime Fiction, and the Ned Kelly Best Crime Book in 2018.
Singleton Council’s manager corporate and community services group Mark Wiblen said it was exciting the Singleton community would have the chance to hear her discuss her latest book in the series, All the Tears in China.
“This is a great chance for lovers of crime fiction to discover the story behind the gentleman artist and amateur-detective, Rowland Sinclair, and how the Sulari blends historical fact and entertaining fiction to create an intriguing mystery,” he explained.
“Our staff is very excited to introduce the Singleton audience to Sulari’s wit, wisdom and insights into Australian history, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of one of Australia’s premiere historical mystery series.
“The ninth novel in the Rowland Sinclair series, All the Tears in China is set in the 1930s in Shanghai, and throws a classic murder mystery into a glitzy, glamourous, tawdry and dangerous world, entrancing both new and old readers.
“Readers will also be fascinated by Sulari’s own story — an amazing author who was born in Sri Lanka, set out to study astrophysics, graduated in law, and then abandoned her legal career to write books instead of contracts.”
