Police and emergency services are at the scene of the accident, which occurred on Wine Country Drive, at Pokolbin, about 3.45pm.
The male pilot, and sole occupant of the plane, was not hurt.
After speaking with police at the scene, he was taken to John Hunter Hospital for precautionary medical checks.
Five crews and a helicopter with a specialist medical crew attended.
"Initial reports suggest that the plane crashed into a vineyard," a spokesperson from NSW Ambulance said.
"One person was on board, a 24-year-old man."
