Following Saturday’s hit-out at Muswellbrook’s Olympic Park, selectors have named a 20-strong line-up to contest the regional trials at Scully Park, Tamworth, on February 9.
Coach Gary Gardner, who did a brilliant job with the side last season, will again mentor the youngsters as they strive for higher honours.
Group 21 won the Greater Northern Championships at Scone following impressive victories over the Group 4 Bushrangers 30-18 and Group 19 48-18.
And, 12 players from Gardner’s outfit gained a berth in the Tigers.
Returning from that 2018 “local” team is Aberdeen trio Harry Douglass, Cameron French, Hamish Wolfgang, Denman signings Brady Benkovic and Jordan Mulherin, Muswellbrook duo Jayson Hovi and Jason McKay, Scone’s Jake Collison, and Singleton pair James Bradley and Will Nieuwenhuise.
The newcomers this year include Max Greacen, Andrew Pritchard, Luke Rees (Denman), Jacob Button, Jacob Kennedy, Wade McKenzie (Muswellbrook), Isaac Austin, Brady Curry (Scone), Morgan Amidy and Ethan Curtin-Edwards (Singleton).
Group 21 will hit the training paddock at Olympic Park on Monday, January 28, from 6pm.
Other sessions are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, February 7 and 8, at the same venue.
