The ATAR, released on Friday, December 14, is the rank used by universities to select school leavers for entry into uni courses.
Students can access their ATAR on the My UAC mobile app or on UAC’s website from 9am, using their Year 12 student number (or UAC application number) and UAC PIN.
Pupils will then be able to download their ATAR Advice Notices from 10am on that day.
Lots of Year 12 students will be bombarded with the inevitable question: “What did you get?” but it’s important to note that ATARs are released only to individual pupils.
Schools do not receive ATAR information and students can keep their ATAR completely confidential if they wish.
UAC and universities have access to student ATARs to assist them in the university admissions process, but all staff at UAC and universities are covered by strict confidentiality agreements.
Students applying for tertiary study in 2019 have until midnight on Sunday, December 16, to change their course preferences for consideration in the December round two offers on Thursday, December 20.
For those who haven’t applied, it’s not too late – applications for university study in first semester 2019 are open until Friday, February 8.
For more information about applying to university, students can visit UAC’s website or phone UAC on 1300 275 822 (from mobiles on (02) 9752 0200).
