After dropping their previous match to the Merriwa Magpies, the Colts were determined to hit the ground running in front of a big home crowd.
And, that they did.
Greta Branxton raced to a 14-0 lead at the break, thanks to tries to Brooke Davis, Robyn Draper and Taylor Quinlan-Widl and a goal to Draper.
The Ramettes regrouped when Lacey Walton sprinted down the sideline to touch down. Shae Pemberton added the extras and Muswellbrook just trailed 14-6.
However, the Colts lifted a notch to put the issue beyond doubt with Teearn Summers and Draper diving over the line.
Greta Branxton next faces the Aberdeen Tigers at Scone Park, while the Ramettes tackle top of the table Merriwa.
GRETA BRANXTON COLTS 22 (Robyn Draper 2, Brooke Davis, Taylor Quinton-Widl, Teearn Summers tries; Draper goal) defeated MUSWELLBROOK RAMETTES 6 (Lacey Walton try; Shae Pemberton goal)
