A big crowd attended Saturday night’s dinner and dance at the Muswellbrook RSL Club, while brilliant conditions and huge numbers greeted organisers for Sunday’s annual event at the Muswellbrook Showground.
Both functions are expected to boost the coffers of the Muswellbrook PCYC – and other community organisations – in a major way when the final tally is worked out.
“It was a fantastic evening [on Saturday],” said Motorfest organiser Col McLean, from the Upper Hunter Motoring Association Inc.
“More than 200 people were there – and 90 per cent of them dressed in ‘hippy gear’.
“It was really, really good.
“And, we can’t thank Andrew and Christine Corliss for all that they did, too.”
Mr McLean was also delighted with Sunday’s turn-out.
“I’m very happy,” he said.
“The weather’s been great, which certainly helped.
“More than 150 exhibitors took part – with classic cars, bikes, trucks and boats on show, along with cranes, market stalls, food and drink.
“Helicopter rides, entertainment, and activities for the kids added to the overall atmosphere.
“We’re expecting to match the 3000 [crowd] figure, through the gates, from last year as well.”
