The renovated establishment is nominated in five categories, including Best New/Total Redeveloped Hotel – Country, Best Casual Dining Venue – Country Northern, Best Steak, Best Burger and Best Pub Style Accommodation Standard/Traditional.
Thoroughbred Hotel spokesperson Peter Allen said, after a major rejuvenation of the hotel, being a finalist in so many categories was a fantastic result for both the venue and staff.
“We are absolutely over the moon having re-opened 12 months ago after a renovation that saw the place virtually gutted and rebuilt, to now have all our hard work recognised by these finalist nominations,” he said.
“We honestly believe our offering is second to none, with the level of our accommodation, food, outdoor area and car parking.
“We are also probably the only pub that has a fully operating bakery and café that opens at 6am.”
The Linga Longa Hotel at Gundy is also a finalist for the Best Bush Pub, while Graze at the Willow Tree Inn will vie for the Best Restaurant – Country title.
The Willow Tree Inn also joins the list of nominees, for Best Hotel of the Year – Country.
The Australian Hotels Association NSW Awards for Excellence winners will be announced at a presentation ceremony on Tuesday, November 20, at The Star Event Centre, Sydney.
