THE district may be enjoying some nice soaking showers but unfortunately, unless it becomes weeks of rain and then some, the drought will continued unabated.

And, there are districts throughout the state that have missed out completely on this rain front so support for farmers and their communities needs to continue.
Locally, Chloe Bayley has decided to put on a Farmers Drought Relief Fundraising Ball at the Singleton Rugby Club on Saturday, November 10, from 6pm.
Living in the rural community of Mt Olive, Chloe said she saw first-hand the impacts of drought on farmers.
“I have also visited communities like Coonamble that are doing it really tough,” she explained.
“So, I thought why not try and raise some funds to help these people and their communities because without farmers we have nothing.
“We are good at helping our mates when they need a hand – so I would ask Singleton to support this event.”
All proceeds from the ball will be donated to Aussie Helpers.
There will be lucky door prizes and a silent auction.
Entertainment will be provided by Three Shades of Grey, food by Smokin Hot ‘N Saucy and there will be a photo booth supplied by The Hunter Booth Company.
Tickets cost $70 per person and are available by contacting Chloe on 0422181941 or chl_bayls@hotmail.com
