In Scone, waste must be put out on the weekend of October 20-21.
In Aberdeen, Blandford, Bunnan, Cassilis, Gundy, Merriwa, Moonan Flat, Murrurundi, Parkville and Wingen, it will be the following weekend, October 27-28.
Waste must only be put out during the weekend for your town and will be collected within the following fortnight.
Waste added after the weekend will not be picked up.
This collection is for residents who have an existing weekly kerbside bin collection service.
Residents can get rid of bundles of green waste, broken furniture, floor coverings (rolled up and no longer than 1.5m), decrepit garden furniture and other non-recyclable waste.
All bulky waste collected goes to landfill so it is important to separate anything that can be recycled, upcycled or reused.
Consider making some extra money from your unwanted items in good condition by having a garage sale or selling online or donate to a local charity shop.
Every tonne of waste that goes into landfill costs council $83.20 for the NSW Government Waste Levy, and reduces landfill life.
Many items that are not collected in the bulky waste pick up are still accepted free at Waste Management Facilities in Aberdeen, Merriwa, Murrurundi and Scone.
This includes recyclable containers, e-waste (cables and chargers, mobile phones, computers, televisions and small household appliances), batteries, oil (up to 20L) and white goods (except fridges which are accepted for a fee).
Scrap metal is also accepted free at the facilities for recycling.
Other waste that will not be collected includes objects weighing over 20kg, mattresses, electronics, car parts, and mirrors/glass panels.
A guide to what is and isn’t collected is available on council’s website.
Items need to be stacked neatly next to the kerb, making sure the footpath and roadway is not blocked.
They must be secure and bagged or bundled to avoid windblown littering.
The volume of waste should not exceed that of a 2m3 box trailer.
Any unacceptable items that remain on the kerb after the collection, could be considered illegal dumping which can attract a $250 fine.
