The freight line to Devonport is expected to reopen days after an out-of-control and driverless train was deliberately derailed as it neared the northern Tasmanian city.

The runaway TasRail train was derailed on Friday morning to bring it to a stop as it neared the heart of the Tasmanian city.
The line is expected to be open after the carriages carrying cement were cleared from the tracks over the weekend, a statement from TasRail said.
"From the moment we were alerted to this incident, it has been a huge team effort across all terminals and on site in Devonport to activate and implement our emergency response protocol," TasRail chief executive Steven Dietrich said on Sunday.
Loaded with cement, the train crossed a walking path and crashed into fences near Devonport's waterfront, throwing debris into the air and injuring two people.
A man and a woman were struck by the flying debris in the incident, suffering cuts and abrasions, and both were taken to hospital.
The injuries came despite the best efforts of emergency crews to warn people of the runaway train by using sirens and flashing lights.
The company will meet with the Australian Transport Safety Bureau on Monday and as soon as the site has been checked by the bureau the final wagons will be removed.
