THE Jerrys Plains Community Fair kicked off a big weekend of activities in the Upper Hunter on Saturday.
The eighth annual event, which takes place at the Jerrys Plains Recreational Ground, has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years.
And, it was no exception in 2018, with the Singleton Historical Society, Upper Hunter Motoring Association, Jerrys Plains NSW RFS, among many others, supporting the mini extravaganza.
If that wasn’t enough, the Merriwa Springtime Show was also in full swing, with the Wideland Challenge, Drought Support Hub, ag tech expo, working dog displays and showjumping, to name a few, entertaining the young and old.
Then, from 2pm until 9pm, the Muswellbrook Showground will host the Muswellbrook Cultural Spectacular, including free creative workshops with Gomeroi Gaayngga, the entertaining Roo’d stilt walkers and Len Waters’ special delivery of A Night Under The Stars.
The excitement doesn’t stop there either.
The Denman RSL Club Community Cracker Night, boasting a huge fireworks display, stalls, rides and school productions, gets underway from 3pm at the local footy ground.
Entry is $10 (adults), $5 (children and pensioners) or $25 (family – two adults, three kids).
It all leads into Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22, with the Singleton Show.
