More than two dozen firefighters – from Singleton, Branxton and Rutherford – as well as Hunter Valley Police District officers and NSW Ambulance paramedics were quick to respond to the blaze behind Petbarn Singleton, which saw smoke billowing across the town’s skyline.
It is believed the fire began about 8.15pm, with the emergency service personnel still in attendance after 11pm.
Fortunately, no-one was in the Singleton premises at the time.
However, investigations are expected to take place into the cause of the fire.
