This time requiring bulls for 2 Indonesian AI centres for semen collection to be distribution to their local farmers.
This year’s consignment of 5 bulls is the 3rd, over the last few years. A shipment of 8 in calf heifers had been previously selected also for their breeding program.
The Bulls have been selected and are inspected and measured on farm and only those meeting the Indonesians strict specifications are considered.
They do not require Black Limousins as they are not suited to Indonesia`s climate .
Bulls are transported from farm to quarantine stations in Victoria for a few weeks for further health checks.
After meeting all the health check and protocol requirements to enable exportation of live cattle, they are placed on board aircrafts and flown to their new homes in Indonesia then dispatched into the 2 separate AI centres.
Semen collections take place after the bulls acclimatise to their new homes.
Over the years the Bricknells have created a good rapport with the Indonesians, and indicated they will be back next year.
King Creek are celebrating 30 years of breeding Limousins and will be holding their 3rd Annual Bull and Female sale on Tuesday July 24 along with a pre-sale open day on Saturday July 14.
There will be 24 bulls and 10 females available for sale.
