The walks are free for the public to sample, before deciding whether to join the association on a regular basis.
“The bushwalks are conducted on the last Sunday of the month, typically take the whole day (9am to 4pm), are frequently off track and more about taking in the natural surroundings and socialising than ‘racing to the top’,” Wendy Wales said.
“They’re mostly between eight and 10 kilometres; and usually involve hills.
"Walks are followed by a social afternoon tea back at the cars.”
This year there are a lot of additional opportunities to get into the scenic, wild river, high country of Barrington Tops and visit the beautiful and remote Upper Allyn and Upper Paterson Rivers with some of NSW’s most experienced bushwalkers.
The walks include Broken Back Ranges, Pokolbin (April 29); Bells Mt, Muswellbrook (May 27); mountain biking in the Upper Allyn (May 19 and 20); camping in the Goulburn River National Park on the June long weekend and Martindale on June 24.
