The tournament, featuring 16 teams including the Muswellbrook Cats and Singleton Roosterettes as well as new sides Port Stephens, Terrigal Avoca, The Entrance Bateau Bay and Wallsend-West Newcastle, was abandoned on Friday due to unsafe playing conditions at Tulkaba Park, Teralba.
“The curse of the Women’s Gala Day has continued with this week’s wet weather forcing the cancellation of Saturday’s event,” Black Diamond AFL football operations coordinator Garry Burkinshaw said.
“Unfortunately, we are not in a position to reschedule.”
Muswellbrook was due to face Wallsend-West Newcastle, Port Stephens and The Entrance Bateau Bay, while Singleton had drawn Cardiff, Lake Macquarie and Terrigal Avoca.
