Cessnock and Singleton are set to swelter through 40 degrees while the mercury is expected to tip a warm 39 degrees in Maitland.
The fire danger rating was listed as very high for Monday, however a total fire ban was not introduced.
There is a slight chance that the tradition of a wet Maitland Show weekend will continue this year, with a 30 per cent chance of rain on Friday and a 50 per cent chance on Saturday.
However, the amount predicted to fall is just 0 to 0.4mm and 0 to 2mm respectively.
