The wonderful emergency services will again be assisting Santa during his busiest month of the year to ensure that all the wonderful children of Merriwa are in the Christmas spirit.
Merriwa NSW Rural Fire brigade and Merriwa and District Volunteer Rescue Squad, along with the NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, and Fire and Rescue NSW, will chaperone Santa around town from 4 to 6pm so he can deliver Christmas lolly pops to all the children on the nice list this year.
The annual lolly run has been made possible thanks to a generous donation from Merriwa Rotary Club.
Unit Controller for the Merriwa State Emergency Service and member of both Merriwa and District Volunteer Rescue Association and Merriwa Rural Fire brigade, Peta Luke said it is “a wonderful opportunity to showcase the amazing emergency services and the committed work they do locally.”
Emergency services are encouraging children to keep an ear out for the fire sirens, which will signal that Santa is on his way.
