Although the water was chilly, the pupils worked hard on building their water confidence skills and on stroke correction activities.
This will be followed by K-2 students’ intensive Learn to Swim program.
“Swimming is very beneficial for our pupils,” Murrurundi Public School principal Leeanne Batho said.
“Apart from the importance of learning safety and survival skills in and around water, it is great for health and wellbeing, can be a great sport to compete in and as a recreational activity.
“This is just another element of our school’s strong wellbeing program.
“We have terrific pool facilities in town, which makes swimming for sport very accessible for our students.”
