Singleton Council is partnering with Rotary of Singleton, Singleton Business Chamber and Yancoal for a community Christmas party on Friday, November 24, complete with roving performers, magicians, face painting, Christmas elves and more from 5pm.
There’ll be markets for the adults, a jumping castle to keep the kids entertained and members of Singleton Rotary Club will be cooking up a barbecue to keep everyone’s stomachs happy.
And, of course, Christmas is never complete without a visit from Santa, and the man himself will be there at 7.15pm.
The big finale will come courtesy of Yancoal with a fireworks display from 8.30pm in Rose Point Park.
Singleton mayor Cr Sue Moore said the best part was that everyone was invited.
“Christmas on John Street has evolved to become the official launch for the festive season and a wonderful way to get everyone in the Christmas spirit,” she said.
“It might be a Christmas event in name, but it’s really about bringing people of all ages together to celebrate the spirit of our community with a program of activities and entertainment for everyone.
“Best of all, most of it is free.
“It’s a wonderful demonstration of the support we have for our community with the involvement of Rotary of Singleton, Singleton Business Chamber and of course Yancoal who will present the fireworks display to close out the event.
“I thank those organisations for their commitment to our community, and look forward to as many people as possible enjoying the event on November 24.”
