After attending the University of New England, graduating in Agricultural Economics he worked in the finance industry in Sydney and the UK for 3 years. Rob returned to Australia to join NAB in an Agribusiness lending role but the lure of farm life was too strong to ignore and he was soon working a season on a cattle property in the gulf of Queensland.
It was during this time that he got his first taste of a large scale grazing operation.
After undertaking a Holistic Resource Management course and working on a number of local properties, Rob established Farm Easy in 2004.
The business is a culmination of Rob’s years of experience in farming, finance and the numerous educational courses he has pursued in Grazing, Technograze as well as DPI courses such as Pro-graze and Land-Scan.
His passion for improving operations and enabling clients to achieve sustainable and profitable farms is the driving force behind the business.
Offering farm mapping and planning services, grazing management advice, water system design and installation and appraisal reports, Rob says the family business is leading the way in sustainable grazing systems.
By mapping out different paddock and pasture areas, Rob is able to determine a suitable grazing plan, that allows for critical ‘rest time’ in paddocks, ensuring optimal conditions.
“The rest time is the most important factor in grazing,” begins Rob

“If the pastures are not given time to rest then unwanted issues arise such as weeds, weak pastures, nutrient run-off and erosion, which will ultimately lead to poor animal health,” he adds.
With ongoing pressure to reduce operational costs and manage the feeding of stock during dry periods, farmers can benefit from reviewing their current structure such as paddock layout, watering systems and lane ways.
Farm Easy can work with new and existing businesses looking to improve results, lower input costs and maximise production.
Rob’s extensive experience in farm management and finance means the business is tuned into the commercial reality of farming as well as the practical application, meaning customers can achieve genuine long term results.
