And, the event – sponsored by Muswellbrook Shire Council – achieved that goal with a record crowd converging on Simpson Park on Saturday.
“Before we opened the gates, we’d sold more than 1200 tickets,” mayor Martin Rush.
“We’re delighted with the response.”
Festival headliners Thundamentals were joined on the program by Nicole Millar, Winston Surfshirt, Polish Club, Australia, Raave Tapes and local talent Jones the Cat and Trash Rabbits.
Youngsters were looked after, too, with Kids’ Corner boasting face painting, balloon twisting and craft activities.
