This year there will be six studs from across the Hunter region and as far North as Walcha coming together for the annual event, which showcases the quality of cattle on offer within the region.

In the short time frame the event has been running the quality has been exceptional and this year will be no exception.
With 31 stud females on offer including cows and calves, preg-tested in calf females, catalogued for the event, there’s also a great selection of junior heifers on offer.
Hunter Lakes was established in 2009 with the purchase of females from some of the leading studs in Australia.
Through the use of Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer they continue to expand and improve the genetics base for a top performance herd.
There’s been plenty of success in the show ring with numerous ribbons at local and Sydney Show including 2013 Supreme exhibit with Hunter Lakes Goliath and most recently at Dubbo National Bull Show and Sale winning Reserve Senior Champion Bull and top price of $65,000 selling to Ridgeview Herefords in Victoria.
Retaining a full flush brother in Hunter Lakes Lancelot the association is very excited with his progeny on the ground so far and very happy with how they are performing.
Hunter Lakes have supported the sale since its inception in 2010 and in 2017 we will offer three cows with calves at foot and also on offer will be nine heifers from 12-24 months of age representing some of the top genetics being used in our stud program.
Hunter Lakes welcomes anyone for an inspection of our sale females and herd at anytime.
Ivybank Partnership are very successful Northern breeders who have supported this sale since its founding.
This year the Ivybank Partnership had great results in the show and sale rings at Wodonga and Dubbo Nationals receiving many ribbons and great prices for their top quality bulls.
This year promises more success, with their line-up of dams and junior females from leading Cherry, Minerva, Colleen and Eclipse female lines combined with top stud sires like Tummel Legacy GOLL39 and Kanimbla Fullbottle MXMH117.
Mondeo Poll Herefords was established in 1996 by Alister and Carolyn McDonald. Over the years the Mondeo stud has travelled the country to many National Junior Hereford shows and to the Sydney Royal Shows.
From this they have achieved many big successes throughout our times within the show ring including grand champions to champions to place getters.
Within the program over the years they have incorporated top line genetics from the following studs; Merawah, Doonbiddie, Ebbex, Neridah, Rayleigh, Debarry, Dalkeith, Sevenbardot, Evesham and Falkenhurst studs.
This year at the 8th annual Hereford stud female sale they will be offering 1 of their top female lines with a bull calf at foot by Rayleigh Juggernaut J54 and another 1 of their top females that will be calved before the sale to Rayleigh Juggernaut J54.
Also on offer will be 2 heifers depastured with Mondeo Adjustable J18 before sale and 1 potential show heifer sired by Rayleigh Juggernaut J54.
Mondeo is determined in reaching its potential to breed quality genetics within its future progeny focusing on producing qualities like temperament, do-ability and calving ease.
Moorine Poll Herefords has been selling and buying stud cattle for a number of years.
2016 and 2017 have been successful years for the Moorine stud in the major regional show circuit claiming several grand champion ribbons.
This year they have 2 females, one by the Cherry bloodlines and the other female is a Careless bloodline. Both females are depastured with Morganvale Gelato, who is proving to produce exciting calves within our breeding program.
The Santarna Poll Hereford Stud was established in 2005 when Jamie and Jessica Grosser won a ‘heifer’ as a prize at the Hereford Junior Nationals held in Wodonga 2005 at the ages of 8 and 7.
Jessica has recently started her own stud “Riverwood Poll Herefords” so this year Jamie will be offering 2 potential show heifers from leading Whim Park and Mondeo dams and both these heifers are sired by Rayleigh Juggernaut J54. These two stylish young heifers offer plenty of frame and do-ability and would be an asset to any stud.
Sunshine Park Poll Hereford Stud was established in 1966 by Jack Windeyer. He gradually collected a varied herd of the most renowned bloodlines of Poll Hereford females.
All well-known Hereford Family names, that go back generations and are found in many herds. In the 80’s and 90’s they purchased new imported bloodlines that have become common in the herd as well.
They have always strived to select the best cows to keep in the herd with an emphasis on sound structure, good unassisted calving and the best fecundity. “
They are offering 2 heifers JKWL7 – Sunshine Park Locket 36L7 she has a heifer calf at foot born 34kg on 3.9.17 by Sunshine Park D32K24 and JKWL45 – Sunshine Park Audrey 21L45 she has a bull calf at foot born 37kg on 3.9.17 by Sunshine Park D32K24.
Like others they continue to look for increased fertility and productivity in their herd, so when you buy stock you know that it’s the best breed of cattle there is.
