So, it was no surprise to find out the pupils did extremely well when the results of the creative writing division were announced at the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music.
Paxton Hann, Riley Jeans, Kiara de Looze, Ruby George, Maelie Parker and Brodie Schmarr all collected certificates for their efforts.
In the secondary poetry section, Singleton’s Erin Dempster took home a trophy following her first place.
Convenor Adrienne Casey was thrilled with the excellent response to the competition.
“I’m delighted with the quality and calibre of the work submitted,” she said.
“There were lots of smiling faces at the presentation – from parents to children.
“Many thanks go to our excellent adjudicator Tracie Lark for her professionalism and support of the creative writing division.”
