Muswellbrook Shire Council is developing a Sustainability Hub in Wilkinson Avenue – and is inviting the community to get involved.
It is hoped the area will be used by a range of community groups, including Landcare, for initiatives such as community gardens, a plant nursery and much more.
The Hub will be used to showcase sustainability actions that can be practiced at home and to develop projects to benefit the community and environment.
“We see the Sustainability Hub as a great area to work with the community and also demonstrate what actions local residents can take at home to help the environment,” council’s sustainability coordinator Mark Scandrett said.
The area is part of an overall “Sustainability Street” plan to develop the area between Bridge Street and Wilkinson Avenue into a space, which can be utilised and enjoyed by the whole community.
