The annual Hedweld Milbrodale Mountain Classic will take place on Saturday and Sunday, offering off-road racing at its best only 20km from Singleton.
It is also doubling as the third round of the NSW Championships, the Premier NSW Long Course Championship opener and the second leg of the East Coast Tri Challenge.
The Milbrodale Mountain Classic, conducted for more than three decades, is now one of the most prestigious events on the NSW Off-Road Racing calendar.
Hosted by the Hunter Valley Off Road Racing Association (HVORRA), organisers are anticipating a large field of local and interstate entrants this year to see who can win the very sought-after Man of the Mountain award.
Day one will definitely be action-packed with the running of the prologue (to set race start times) and race one of the medium course (six laps).
With drivers full of adrenaline and machines race-prepared, there should be no shortage of spectator excitement.
Sunday won’t disappoint either, not only for the competitors out on the track but also the sideline observers who’ll certainly receive value for money.
Spectators can enjoy a four abreast start in race three for the short course heat.
It is tight, fast, furious and a little bit hectic over the first jump and into the corner, which will no doubt result in some great viewing.
After lunch the entire field will leave the arena to tackle the mountain for race four, which includes six laps of the long course (15km/per lap).
The competitor who secures the fastest single lap of this heat will earn the prestigious title of Man of the Mountain.
The Milbrodale venue offers a great viewing area, ensuring some stunning action for all those wishing to enjoy the racing.
Spectators also have a chance to get close to the cars and talk to the drivers when the pits are open to the public during the lunch break.
Food and drinks are available trackside and the event also provides activities for the children, including helicopter joy flights, jumping castles and amusement rides.
The Milbrodale Mountain Classic, the facilities, the organisation and the atmosphere are rated highly throughout the sport.
This event would not be possible without the support of the Hedweld Group of Companies, Bulga Coal, Southern Cross Ten, Newcastle Herald, Lancaster Motors, Myne Signs and the numerous class sponsors.
As always, the Milbrodale Mountain Classic is generously supported by the local community with the Bulga Bush Fire Brigade, Milbrodale Public School and Broke Public School all assisting while benefiting from the occasion.
During the weekend, organisers are also raising money for some very worthy causes, such as Witmore Enterprises, CanTeen and Simply Loving Taylor Inc.
