Just four days out from the tenth anniversary of the Pasha Bulker storm, the Hunter is set to experience some pretty ordinary weather conditions with a low pressure system working its way up the coast.

While coastal areas will cop the brunt of the system, Maitland and other parts of the Hunter will still experience wind and rain, possibly through until Sunday.
The Bureau of Meteorology reports that the low will remain near the coast on Wednesday but will move east from Thursday.
Reports this morning that Barrington Tops could receive a light dusting of snow were dismissed by the bureau, with the rain right behind any snowfall.
Frost is forecast for the Upper Hunter on Wednesday morning with a 90 per cent chance of showers along the region’s coastal fringe and a 50 per cent chance inland.
Bureau forecaster Jordan Notara said rain is expected to start Tuesday afternoon and increase over the next few days.
Winds will develop and become northwest to southwesterly from 25 to 40 kilometres per hour with overnight temperatures falling to between two and eight degrees and day time temperatures reaching between 12 and 16 degrees.
Thursday will be partly cloudy across the Hunter with showers expected in the Lower Hunter coupled with southerly winds and an overnight low of five degrees. Day time temperatures Thursday should be between 15 and 19 degrees.
There will be similar conditions across the region on Friday and over the long weekend.
