A CAR caught alight on Wybong Road on Tuesday morning, causing a neighbouring grass fire.
Mangoola Rural Fire Brigade received a call to the fire at 2.30am.
Three vehicles responded to the call – Mangoola 1, Mangoola 1B and Mangoola 9.
When the crews arrived at the scene, the vehicle was already fully involved in fire.
And, the car’s situation caused a grass fire to take off on the side which got the crew to work quickly.
Weather conditions made the fire control process simpler.
There was low wind, and, after a couple hours crew were able to contain the fire and mop up.
The firefighters returned to the station at 4.50am.
