That’s the opinion of secretary Jane Walmsley, with the minor semis kicking off at Pirtek Park, Singleton, on Sunday.
Seven days later, Scone will host the grand final qualifiers at Scone Park.
And, while some sides have dominated their respective divisions in 2016, those results count for nothing at the business end of the season.
“I guess the semi-final combatants in each grade were predictable, but it’s anyone’s game now,” Walmsley said.
“My advice to everyone – don’t ever give up.
“It doesn’t matter if you finished in top spot or fourth, it’s a totally different ball game once the play-offs start.”
The Scone Thoroughbreds clinched the first grade minor premiership, six points clear of the Muswellbrook Rams.
The Singleton Greyhounds and Aberdeen Tigers, who grabbed the final two berths, will lock horns in this weekend’s elimination showdown.
Defending premiers Denman Devils and the Greta Branxton Colts failed to make a dent on the ladder.
“It was a bit of a tough season,” Walmsley admitted.

“Player numbers were down, which resulted in some lop-sided scorelines.
“Sides like Denman and Greta Branxton really struggled.
“I’m sure they’ll bounce back next year.
“Overall, as the group’s secretary, there haven’t been too many dramas.
“Across the board, the crowd figures were good.”
Singleton, Scone, Murrurundi Mavericks and Aberdeen will battle it out in reserve grade over the next month.
In under-18s, the Rams, Greyhounds, Thoroughbreds and Devils are title hopes.
As for the biggest division in the group, women’s league tag, Scone, Greta Branxton, Muswellbrook and Singleton will go head-to-head.
“We’re very happy with the way that format has progressed,” Walmsley said.
“It’s one of the fastest growing sports in NSW.
“And, it is pleasing to hear that the local junior league is hoping to introduce more [league tag] teams to the competition.”
