The local group’s treasurer Phil Reid (pictured with granddaughter Paige Doidge, 9) said the event was a fun and inexpensive night out for the whole family.
“We’re expecting about 70,” he told the Hunter Valley News.
“We’re trying to get the community together.
“You meet different people at dances.”
Proceeds from the event will go towards the centre’s maintenence costs.
The events organisers said they are expecting attendance from people various places across the Hunter, including Maitland and Cessnock, and there is no dance skill or knowledge level requirement.
“The people coming who know the dances can help everybodywho doesn’t,” committee member Morry Chapman said.
Musicians Butch and Bake will be providing entertainment with a mix of rock n roll, and vogue music.
You can catch all the fun at Bulga Community Centre from 7pm to 11pm this Saturday, September 13.
Entry is $10 per adult and no cost for children.
Those who attend are asked to bring a plate to share for supper.
Depending on the success of the event the committee may plan another dance for later this year.
