Job Description

Your new opportunity at Nine

As a Digital Product Designer you will join a small and agile team of problem solvers, helping to concept, design and build world class digital products. You will work closely with fellow designers, product managers, technical teams and researchers to create compelling and meaningful user experiences across web, native apps, and other distribution channels. 

You will report to the Head of  Product Design, News, working primarily on Nine.com.au. But you will also have the chance to contribute to a number of different work streams, and be given the opportunity to advance your design abilities across a range of disciplines.

This is a role where you will be encouraged to think beyond designs and prototypes, and to apply design thinking approaches to the product development lifecycle. You will demonstrate your ability to clearly define problems and frame your design decisions with rationale, data and research insights to increase the potential for product success.

Day to day you will: 

• Collaborate with product managers, technical teams and researchers to help drive the best end user experience
• Generate ideas and early concepts to explore product opportunities and solve problems
• Produce a range of design artefacts including sketches, diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes
• Craft high-fidelity UI/UX designs and work closely with engineers to deliver the final product

Here’s what you'll bring to the team 

• A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience working as a Digital Product Designer and delivering UI/UX designs for digital products in a corporate environment
• Experience using industry standard UI design tools, and knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools
• A proven ability to solve problems and make design decisions based on rationale, data and research insights 
• An ability to build effective working relationships with a variety stakeholders, all with different goals and objectives (e.g editorial, commercial) to deliver the most meaningful user experiences possible
