They had an excellent score of 79 in very heavy conditions to finish four shots ahead of Matt Hobbs and Barb Hobbs.
Their round was also clearly ahead in the nett event, sponsored by Ross and Lyn Banks, with 69 nett in an excellent field of thirty-two players.
The ball winners were Jono Keep & Annie Woods 69, Brett Koppel & Mary Brennan 75, Charlie Wintle & Julie Leckie 75.5, Gary & Rachael Ritchie 75.5, Mikey Carmody & Leanda Nutt 77.5, Fergus Bragg & Dordie Bragg 78.5, Clayton Rogers & Yvonne Palmer 78.5 and Matt Hobbs & Barb Hobbs 79 nett.
Will O'Donnell won the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug on Saturday May 4, with a fine round of 71 for 69 nett in dismal, showery conditions. The second prize went to James Smart 37 points on a countback from Charlie Wintle for third, and Jono Keep won the fourth prize with 36 points also on a countback. The Domino's Pizza NTP's were shared around to Rod Vaughan 6.37 metres on the 4th, Will O'Donnell 3.75 metres on the 8th, Peter Teague 1.59 metres on the 13th and Gary Ritchie 3.27 metres on the 17th.
The ball winners were Will O'Donnell 39, James Smart, Charlie Wintle 37, Jono Keep, Brad Baker, Stuart Sheldrake 36, Luke Stevens 35, Neil Clydsdale, Jeff Harrington, Tony O'Neill, Red Palmer 34, Matt Langan, Trevor Wilson 33, Peter Teague and David Bradshaw 32 points on a countback from James Munro, Jeb O'Brien, Jim Hobbs and John Roe.
The ladies played their third Monthly Medal and Golf NSW Medal round on Thursday May 2. The Melanie's Jewellers prize and medal was won by Nic Robertson who had 75 nett on a countback from Leah Jamieson. Visitor Sue Wilks had the best round of the day with 71 nett but was ineligible for the medal being awarded the Mitani Café runner up voucher. Leanda Nutt had the best putting score of 28 to win the "Wine O'Clock Putting" sponsored by Julie Leckie, whilst Lyn Banks 84, Mary Brennan 102 and Nic Robertson 108 took home the Divisional Scratch Score vouchers sponsored by Dordie Bragg.
Leah Jamieson won the NTP on the 4th in two shots finishing at 0.30 metres, whilst Joan Shaw's shot to the difficult 8th hole finished on the green closer than the rest of the field at 17.90 metres. Balls were won by Sue Wilks (V) 37, Nic Robertson 35, Leah Jamieson 33, Lyn Banks 32, Mary Brennan, Kerry McLennan, Joan Faras, Annie Woods 31 and June Jukes 30 points.
The winner of the Weekly 18 Hole Medley Stableford was Andrew Parry-Okeden who had 37 points with balls also going to Glen Tarrant, Alister Fraser 34 and Adam Brayshaw 32 points.
On Thursday May 9 the Scone Ladies Open Day is scheduled to have a near full field. The 9am shotgun start has players from fourteen clubs in the Hunter, Newcastle and Tamworth regions entered.
On Saturday May 11 the event will be an 18 Hole Stableford sponsored by Daryl Dutton and Jock O'Connor. The weekly Scone RSL Group Stableford will conclude on Friday May 10.
