Donations of toiletries, gifts, magazines and non-perishable food may be dropped into OurCare Services, off the William Street car park in town.
These will then be collected and packaged up to be sent to soldiers early December just in time for Christmas.
Cash donations will also be accepted with volunteers using the money to buy suitable items for the servicemen and women.
Ruth Rogers, who is assisting with the Singleton arm of the project, hopes the district will once again get behind the initiative.
People taking part can include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with their donation to receive a thank you card to recognise their contribution.
“This year we are hoping some school children will write notes to the soldiers to send them a message from home at what can be a very difficult and challenging time for soldiers who are so far away from family and friends,” Mrs Rogers said.
“Any donation will be gladly accepted and much appreciated,” she added.
Donations are asked to be made by December 3.
