The theatre complex is hosting a very special screening of the new film, The Man Who Invented Christmas, on Saturday, November 25, at 2.35pm to assist beyondblue and the Mark Sarfaty Cinema and Performing Arts Benevolent Fund.
“The cinema community is always supportive of fundraiser screenings,” Majestic Cinemas Singleton manager Rhiannon Manning said.
“And, this one sits close to our own hearts, with a percentage of ticket sales going towards these two great charities.”
Ms Manning said attendees would be one of the first to see the new flick, starring Dan Stevens, Christopher Plummer, Jonathan Pryce and Miriam Margolyes, with its official release not until later in the month.
“Based on the book by Les Standiford, The Man Who Invented Christmas tells the story of how Charles Dickens (Stevens from TV’s Downton Abbey) actually revived the holiday of Christmas with his self-published novel, A Christmas Carol.
“Facing pressure with looming debt, a feckless father (Pryce) and recent critical failures, Dickens confronts his past by conjuring up fantastic characters including Ebenezer Scrooge (Plummer), for his now classic Christmas tale.
“Full of wit and warmth, The man Who Invented Christmas will bring out the holiday spirit in everyone.”
Tickets are $15 each with a choc top or mini popcorn included in the price.
