And, that’s exactly what participants – young and old – did at the annual Global Village Motorfest and Fair, at the Muswellbrook Showground, on Sunday.
The day included a show and shine for classic cars and bikes; market stalls; free children’s entertainment, including face painting, a puppet show and jumping castles; while Jumpin’ Jukebox performed throughout proceedings.
Helicopter joy flights were also available.
The event capped off a big 24 hours for the Upper Hunter Motoring Association, as the organisation raised funds for the Muswellbrook PCYC.
“Andrew and Christine Collis set up our dinner dance [at the Muswellbrook RSL Club] brilliantly on Saturday night,” coordinator Colin McLean said.
“It was a very successful evening.
“The auction went extremely well, with one of Mark Ray’s sculptures pulling in almost $6000.
“Everyone had a good time – it was a fun night.
“Unfortunately, the numbers for the Global Village Motorfest & Fair on Sunday are a bit down on previous years.
“But, you can’t control the weather and I think that hampered the event, especially with those from Newcastle and the Central Coast.
“Despite that setback, we’re still happy overall.
“So far, more than 2000 people have passed through the gates.”
