And, on Sunday, October 29, Muswellbrook residents will have a chance to do something about the eyesores in their area.
Volunteers are wanted for the annual Graffiti Removal Day later this month.
The day will begin with an 8am meet up at the Muswellbrook Fitness and Aquatic Centre, where graffiti busters will be allocated sites before getting to work.
Volunteers will be supplied with free cleaning material, paint, safety equipment and training on how to safely remove graffiti.
After the hard work is done all volunteers can enjoy a free swim and barbecue, provided by the Muswellbrook Rotary Club and Council.
Graffiti vandalism costs local businesses, households, NSW Government and Muswellbrook Shire Council millions of dollars each year and the annual removal day draws attention to the fight against graffiti and encourages people to get involved in the removal and prevention of graffiti.
The event is supported by Muswellbrook Shire Council, Muswellbrook Chamber of Commerce, NSW Police LAC, PCYC and Cummins Engineering.
