And, considering the warmer months are here, thoughts turn to the twilight competition.
A fun and light-hearted program, players enjoy exercising, while helping the club prepare for the next season.
Singleton Netball Association publicity officer Nikki Smith said the main purpose of the twilight competition was to raise funds for the club to complete various projects, and to give members better facilities.
“At this stage we have 27 teams registered to participate in the twilight comp as well as around 45 players registered to participate in NetSetGo,” she said.
“This program is a great introduction to netball for our youngest members.”
The association still has places available for children aged 5 and 6 in their NetSetGo program.
In the twilight competition, there is never a shortage of laughs from the wide variety of ages represented.
“The twilight comp is a great social competition and caters for people who may not be able to play on weekends in winter or that just enjoy being social and keeping active,” Smith said.
“We often see mother and daughter teams in twilight, which is really nice.
“We also enjoy seeing the mixed teams participate.
“The skills of all the players improve so much over the competition.”
With that in mind, Smith said the Singleton association is still searching for more junior teams.
The younger groups cater for boys and girls, aged 11 and 12.
Aside from playing, there are a range of ways people can be involved in the club’s activities.
