And, while it was a lot of effort, they didn’t hesitate to get involved and support the cause.
From September 8 to 17, Camp Quality’s annual 1000 K’s 4 Kids bike ride, aimed at raising awareness and funds for children growing up with cancer, went through the Upper Hunter.
During their journey, from Victoria to Warners Bay, they passed through regional areas, including Sandy Hollow and Muswellbrook, visiting families impacted by cancer.
Singleton’s Dean Sarah and Dunn were among the participants on the trek for the worthy cause.
“This is our second year participating in the ride individually, we both loved it,” Mrs Dunn said.
“It’s our first year doing it together - we wanted to experience the 1000 kilometres.
"It's an honour to be involved in something that is for such a great cause.
“We have made life-long friendships and it’s an experience we will remember.”
