Animated favourite Inside Out under the stars at Denman

UPPER Hunter Community Services (UHCS) is excited to announce that this year’s 2017 annual Cinema Under The Stars event will be at the Denman Recreational Area on Friday, October 20, from 6pm.

The movie will start at sundown, with lots of great activities beforehand.

If you would like to buy dinner and some treats while you are watching the movie, Denman Public School will man a barbecue with cold drinks, along with popcorn and fairy floss.

Caffe Mobilita will be set up for hot drinks and milkshakes – it is going to be a fantastic night.

The movie is the Disney Pixar favourite Inside Out and fits in nicely with October’s Mental Health Month theme “Share the Journey”.

UHCS is encouraging everyone to come dressed in the colour of your favourite “Inside Out” emotion.

Bring your friends and family along and enjoy the evening as we all “Share the Journey”.

2017 Mental Health Month: “Share the Journey”

AS in previous years, UHCS is embracing Mental Health Month.

Please keep an eye out for the community calendar, which has some great presentations, activities, events, workshops throughout October.

Sharing the journey is all about connecting with others, which is important for our health and survival.

Research tells us that feeling connected, valued and loved by others gives us a sense of security, support, purpose and happiness.

Close connections and good relationships with others allow us to enjoy the good times in our lives and helps us deal with the hard experiences we face.

This is important for all of us.

Unfortunately, in today’s society, we have many demands on our attention and time, and more people experience loneliness in Australia than ever before.

For those experiencing or living with mental illness, loneliness can be far worse as individuals can face social exclusion, stigma and discrimination.

As social beings, this can affect all aspects of our wellbeing.
