Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen said the NSW Government allocated $4.9 million to carry out the work to provide a stronger, longer lasting and safer road.

“This work will be carried out in three stages,” he said.

“The first stage involves extending existing drainage pipes and preparing for future improvements to the road surface.

“This work will be carried out between 7am and 5pm on weekdays and is expected to be completed in four weeks, weather permitting.”

For the safety of workers and motorists, a reduced speed limit will be in place during working hours.

Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic control and signs and keep to the reduced speed limits.

“The second stage of the project to improve the road surface will start in October with the final stage to begin in April,” Mr Johnsen said.
