STAFF who work in Visitor Information Centres in the Upper Hunter electorate will be trained in the latest customer service techniques thanks to a NSW Government program to help promote rural and regional NSW.
The workshops were developed by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, in collaboration with TAFE NSW.
“We are delighted to be providing our local Visitor Information Centres with the right tools to deliver high-quality service for the people visiting our electorate,” Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen said.
“Our beautiful region has so much on offer and this fantastic program will offer staff the must-know tips and insights to deliver great visitor experiences.
“I encourage everyone to take part and register soon for this wonderful opportunity.
“The workshops are free and open to all Visitor Information Centre staff, whether they work full-time, part-time, as a casual or as a volunteer.
“Growing tourism in rural and regional areas is a top priority for the government.
“We know how vital the industry is to local communities and we’ve committed record funding to help grow local visitor economies.”
