The over 200kg vealer steers returning to the paddock trended 20c cheaper, making from 290c to 379c, with similar decreases recorded for the heavier drafts, as they averaged 323c/kg. The medium weight vealer heifers also to the restockers eased 25c to average 287c, with the best making 319c/kg.
Yearling steers eased 5c, with restockers paying from 310c to 332c/kg to secure their selections. Yearling heifers to the restockers were back 15c, the lighter end made from 248c to 280c/kg.
The prime conditioned younger cattle to the butchers sold well for the higher yielding pens, however the plainer drafts struggled in the competition, with the best sold for 349c/kg.
Cows sold according to yield and quality, with the better pens lifting in price, while the plainer drafts trended cheaper. The plainer 2 scores averaged 6c dearer ranging from 160c to 210c, while the heavier weights made 222c/kg.
