For the third year, the Jets full Hyundai A-League squad and coaching staff will travel to key areas within the club’s regional footprint.
The week-long Jets: Tour 2017 will start on Monday, August 14, with the team stopping first in Taree before heading to Port Macquarie, Tamworth, and Singleton.
Throughout the week, the players and coaches will host three exciting Jets: Play Clinics (Taree, Tamworth and Singleton) for up to 200 kids aged between six and 12 years.
The team will also play friendly matches against a Football Mid North Coast Select side at Port Macquarie Regional Stadium on Tuesday, August 15, and at Scully Park in Tamworth on Thursday, August 17, against a Northern Inland Select squad.
Both fixtures will kick off at 7pm.
Newcastle Jets chief executive officer Lawrie McKinna said the club was looking forward to engaging with the Northern NSW community for a third successive year.
“With Greater Bank’s backing and the additional support of football people in Northern NSW, we will once again be able to take our club to the community this August,” he said.
“These trips provide a great chance for us to meet many of our members and fans in their backyard, and generally spread the gospel of the game and our club to the wider community.
“This year we’ll be traveling around Northern NSW in our fully-branded Sid Foggs bus for the first time, so fans will be able to spot us on the highways, streets, and roads throughout our route.”
Greater Bank CEO Scott Morgan said the Community Partnership with the Newcastle Jets provided an outstanding platform for the community bank to connect with customers in its key regional markets.
“As a regional bank with more than 250,000 customers across NSW, the regional tour helps us to connect with the people and communities that support us,” he explained.
“We are delighted to again partner with the Newcastle Jets to take the tour to regional centres and give the people of Northern NSW the chance to meet their heroes and watch elite football live in their home town.”
The Club’s Jets: Play Clinics in Forster, Tamworth and Singleton will each be capped at 200 participants aged between six and 12.
