Children from the school were greeted by a visit from Magenta Bear and were told all about Relay For Life, and given a Sun Smart Message by Singleton Relay For Life chairperson April Young.
“It is most important that we educate our young people within our community to be sun safe and remind them of effect that the sun can have on their skin,” she said.
“We rely on the ongoing support of our community to fundraise for Transport to Treatment, research, accommodation services and in-home support services provided by Cancer Council NSW to people right here in Singleton.
“Singleton Relay for Life enjoyed its experience at Broke Public School and loved interacting with the children and staff.
“We’d like to thank Broke Public School principal Mrs Nott and staff member Miss Hedley for inviting our committee into the school to educate their students.
“Days like these can’t happen without community support, it’s another way that we are able to give back to the Singleton community.”
Purple Day events are on offer to all schools within the Singleton local government area.
