Marli is presently working to establish a centre for crisis accommodation, counselling, education, and training in the former Currency Lass Hotel in Maitland.
“To assist in this project, the Hunter Valley lodges – in the Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter local government areas – have been running a series of fundraising events,” said Mark Pollard, District Grand Inspector for the Hunter Valley.
“The latest of these is a dinner-dance, to be held at Maitland City Bowling Club on Saturday, June 17.”
The evening, which starts at 6.30pm, will be comprised of a two-course dinner, with entertainment by the Rusty Harper Celtic band, raffles and auctions.
The guest list is to be headed by the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of NSW and ACT, Most Worshipful Brother Jamie Melvile and his wife Yuana.
Other local and masonic dignitaries will be in attendance.
Members of the public who wish to support this charitable event are most welcome.
Tickets can be booked by contacting district secretary Ray Leggett on 0418 850 064.
