The facilities have been closed due to problems with the septic tank and waste water disposal system, which would cost an estimated $15,000 to replace.
The toilet block is in poor condition generally and maintenance on the facilities is estimated to cost $30,000 a year.
Murrurundi has four public toilets facilities in Lions Park, Wilson Memorial Oval, Adelaide Street and near the Visitor Information Centre.
There is also a public toilet at Burning Mountain, Wingen.
Council has repeatedly urged Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to install a public toilet at their truck stop at the southern entrance to Murrurundi.
Council could contribute funds to new toilets at the truck stop, if the Blandford toilet facilities were closed.
Anyone with views on the Blandford toilet facility is asked to provide written comment to council’s director of infrastructure services Alan Fletcher by post to PO Box 208, Scone NSW 2337, email council@upperhunter.nsw.gov.au or drop it into a council office by Friday, April 28.
