The Saturday schedule, on April 1, is full to the brim for spectators and participants, offering the best line up of entertainment for the entire afternoon and evening.
For those wishing to do more than just be a spectator at the Muswellbrook Showground, Saturday is your day.
Information for each participation team event can be found on the show website at http://www.upperhuntershow.com.au
Are you between the age of 18 and 35 years?
If so, enter the MacCallum Inglis Young Farmer Challenge.
Each team of four must have at least one male and one female member – and registration is $20.
The winning team receives $1000 and will head off to the Royal Easter Show, in Sydney, to compete.
So, gather together your team of four and register online, on the show website or register on the day at the Show Office.
Luke Drayton is coordinating the event and can be contacted on 0407 908 212.
It is the optimum time to show off your farming skills while under pressure competing against other teams.
The event will take place in the main arena on Saturday afternoon.
All the strong men out there should enter the PowerFM Wife Carrying competition.
And, if that is just a warm up, the Wild Plant Hire Tug-O-War will also bring in the muscle power.
You can ideally make a preliminary registration for both these events on the show website.
Organise your friends and work colleagues before the show weekend to join in the fun.
Great prizes from generous sponsors are on offer.
For all those aged under-16, don’t miss out on the NAB Whipcracking Clinic and Competition.
Clinician and judge Andrew Thomas will show you the way it’s done, along with plaiting demonstrations by Steve Kemp.
This is a new show event for 2017 and is being held on Saturday at 5pm.
Entry per person is $5 with prizemoney and ribbons to be won.
The Regional Australia Bank Tent Pegging will be on display in the main arena on Saturday, along with the adrenaline from the boys at Showtime FMX.
Their skill and courage should not be missed.
Meet Brad Burch and Robbie Marshall before they perform with Tommy G the MC.
Upper Hunter Tilt Tray Demolition Derby is a must-see on Saturday evening.
Crowds come in to watch the action, set against the night sky of lights, dazzle and music from side show alley.
The family favourite Bengalla Fireworks Display will be on after dark on Saturday evening along with plenty of music from the popular Lineburners Band.
In case you have not heard, the Bengalla Triple B - Bulls, Broncs and Barrels will take place on Friday, March 31, from 6pm with non-stop action and music into the night.
Buy your tickets at the gate - general admission at $15, family pass ($30), children and pensioners ($5).
This year the show is offering great value Two Day Passes.
Two days of entry for the family is $50, while it’s a bargain at $25 for adults.
Come along and join in the fun on March 31 and April 1 at the 2017 Upper Hunter Show.
